High Quality Mediterranean prickly pear cactus pad - opuntia ficus-indica grows Purple fruit

Single Cactus opuntia ficus-indica prickly pear pad approx. 5 inches long Freshly cut, will callous over in the mail and be ready to plant

Just plant approx. 2 inches deep in compost perlite mix, water and then water when dry

The last picture shows a pad about 2 months after planting, you can see a new pad forming

TAKE CARE when handling as they have little spines that will detach, they can be removed with tweezers but its better not to have to go that route

We lift the pads with thick card so planting is easy

Once established they grow quite quickly

Very easy to grow

Very hardy

You can actually cut this in half and grow 2 without problems

Produces attractive flowers and healthy edible fruit

We have a large number of these growing in our fields so always available

It produces flowers followed by edible fig-like fruits which can be peeled and eaten -
